How the process works

Template & quote — either drop the vehicle in for a template, remove the cushions and post them, or send accurate measurements and photos for a written quote.

Fabric & foam spec — choose an automotive-grade fabric and the correct foam density; fire-rated cloth to BS 5852 is available for hire fleets, conversions and other commercial work.

Cover manufacture — new covers are cut, sewn and piped to match the original pattern, with zips and Velcro replaced as needed.

Foam replacement — worn or sagging foams are swapped for new CMHR foam cut to the exact profile of the vehicle.

Fit & collect — cushions are re-fitted in the vehicle or collected/delivered ready to drop back in.

- How much does caravan or motorhome upholstery cost?
- Every job is different, so it is priced from your photos. Send a few pictures from different angles and the upholsterer will quote for your piece.
- Do the fabrics meet vehicle fire regulations?
- Fire-rated cloth to BS 5852 (Crib 5) is available for commercial work such as hire fleets. Tell the upholsterer how the vehicle is used and they will advise on the right fabric.
- Can you match my existing interior?
- Yes. Send photos of the current interior and any wood, curtain or blind samples; we'll help you choose a fabric and colour that ties the conversion together.
- Do I need to bring the vehicle in?
- Not always. Many upholsterers work from the removed cushions plus photos of the vehicle, so you can post the covers or drop them off without leaving the van.
- How long does it take?
- It depends on the job and the workshop. Ask the upholsterer for their timescale when they quote.
